Mind yourself- holistic approach. Wu wei practice.


DO NOT BE OBSESSED WITH CALORIE COUNTING, JUST CHECK INGREDIENT CAREFULLY

Check whether your food is full of minerals and vitamins. Does it really nourish you, feed you, build strong bones and muscles, or just kills temporary need of eating?
Do this not for month or two. Do it for a lifetyme. This is a real care of yourself, not just for clothes size.
When you mind yourself this way, you will gain your optimal body weight naturally.
Maybe not an ideal one, but right for yourself, your individual needs and uniqueness. Maybe not quickly but in just right time and pace. And forever.
Be self- aware, take care of your holistic development, your body, mind and spirit to live a happy life, stay in good shape and great physical condition.

Pyramind diet

Hi there!


Good morning on a beautiful Monday! There is a great weather outside and I am stuck in air- conditioned room :( Far away from sun, fresh air and joy of life! My eyes are dried out, skin suffers from the lack of oxygen, aaah... No help today. Have to wait till 4.45 pm. Anyway, I am going to use my relaitvely free morning to write some exciting article. Obviously;)
Today I want to touch a pyramind topic. Oops, what is this? I think only 3 people (including me) know what does it mean and how to describe it. Let's start with definition

Pyramind- is my linguistic mistake. When we were covering topic related with a healthy eating and food pyramid I said to my friend pyramind instead of pyramid. After short telepathic thoughts exchange we agreed that this is great new word and it can be used in a context of the healthy eating and its impact on IQ, intellect and brain efficiency.

So, how good food influences on our mind, including mood changing, emotional intelligence and general thinking abilities? Easy, firstly- try to not eat in the morning when you used to eat some breakfast before leaving house. You will be mad! Lack of humour, your sugar level in blood goes down... Anxiety, irritation. Your body starts accumulating fat, just in case, and your main source of energy is found in muscles. The worst scenario ever. You're getting to feal weaker and weaker, very sleepy, you are not eficient or effective. You are starting to make mistakes, your brain slowers, your heart rates goes up...  


But from everyday perspective- without proper, nutritional food you are not able to achieve your full intelectual potential. This what you really want?
Pyramind is great way to gain intellectual power, become efficient human being and increase your IQ potential. To boost your memory you should eat nuts, especially almonds and walnuts. They are high in a good fat- omega 3 and increase blood flow to the brain. Another source of this powerful fatty acid are fish, especially oily ones, such as mackerel, herring and salmon. You can also find these fats in a variety of sources, including avocado, spinach, mustard greens, wheat germ, flaxseed (and flaxseed oil), soybean and canola oil, and even pumpkin seeds. Don't forget about apple, that is real power food for brain and my favourite bluberries- they improve learning and fine & gross motor skills. Broccoli assists in proper brain functioning and brussels sprouts has tryptophan which converts to serotonin in the brain. And as we all know, serotonin can affect mood and social behaviour, appetite and digestion, sleep, memory and sexual desire and function. Regular exercises and daily physical activity also increase level of serotonin, just by the way, my lovely readers.
What else you can do eat your brain? Good news for chocoholics! Eating dark chocolate can help to relieve stress (I am not talking about eating process itself; I mean benefits of dark chocolate ingredient) and lower cholesterol level. That means that your brain is able to work faster, without interruptions and analysie environment in more efficient way. Cool. Give me a tone of chocolate, plase. I will keep it safely and securely in my wee garden ;) (But I have to eat it before it melts in a warm, Spring sun... oops)



Ok, that was day dreaming. Let's back to Earth.
Don't forget about watering your body, including brain. It is important to be hydrated, even if you don't feel a need of drinking. Remember, that you should drink at least 8 cups of water DAILY to prevent dehydration. Plus all other fluids, such us green tea (is high in antioxidants that can improve the function of your body and brain), peppermint (that increase concentration). Even coffee can make a difference, just keep your pyramind diet balanced. 




For warmer Spring and Summer time try water with sliced fruits, mint or even cucumber. Stay hydrated in a tasty way. Today, as always, I have choosen minty water to refresh myself in the morning. i also have a 2L water bottle with me + a lot of fruits for a whole day long.



Any questions? Start with small steps. Brain is your asset, being intellectually efficient is sexy and in fashion. Work not only on your body. Work on holistic development, that includes 3 main areas of your living:
body- healthy weight, strong bones & muscles, 
spirit- self- confidence, self- esteem, 
mind- your brain, memroy skills, IQ and intellect

No progress is a regress...

I fucked it up... Totally. I don't want to even check my weight... This week was real disaster, especially yesterday. I don't expect anything positive in relation to my "healthy lifestyle".

Today's weigh-in reflection: you can't have a cake, eat the cake and lose on weight at the same time. Unsuccessful week at all. :/

Long journey for super me- in progress

The real and one only diva, Whitney Houston, had great, extra motivating song. Step- by -step is all about me and I hope all about every person who seeks something in life... Because life is a constant journey, from one stop to another, from good to bad, from small to big, from love to hate, from birth to death... This is life. It is how me make it or it is how it is and we have absolutely no influence on it? Big question- small head (my head). But every morning I feel I am able to change something. Even the smallest part of the world. Yes, I can change it. I can make someone smiling. I can give a hug. I can tell my hubby that I love him, I can play with my dog and be simply relaxed. But achieving tha state of mind requires a lot of discipline, faith and work. And this is a topic of my today's post.


Whatever we decide in our life it will have an impact on us and our future. As long as I am not Robinson Crusoe living lonely on an island, I ineract with the world and other people. I have to take responsibility for my actions. Let's think about very prosaic example- how my mood can change life of someone I am meeting in a shop. I am waking up in generally bad, negative mood. Nothing works as it should, I am leaving my home and person I love with negative vibes. Then I am driving to destination point, shouting on other drivers, cursing and creating even more and more destructive energy. Finally I am reaching to the shop, entering, shopping and... shouting again on sales assistant. With no real reason. Just because I am in bad mood. I am rude, show no respect to other human being... The sales assistant, she is starrting to feel anger, she is becoming to be nervous, rising her voice tone, more and more people are affected by MY BAD MOOD.

Why? What for? Is this a butterfly effect? Do I have a right to literally destroy someone else's comfort zone, just because I am not having my own at the moment?

Think. Take your time. Close your eyes and analyse this example once again. Can you related it to your own life? How many time have you affected someone or have you beed affected by other person? Me, you, them. We create system. Social system. In a philosophical context it is social cotract, same that Jean-Jacques Rousseau was talking about.


We agree for some universal rules to become free and equal, to have same rights. I know this is very wide interpretation of Social Contract idea, however it perfectly fits to my today's considerations.

Let's back to the main topic. If we are all equal, have the same rights, so shouldn't we respect other's right to be happy and live own life? 
That has been a long process, but I have already gained that POWER, that AWARENESS- I HAVE RIGHT TO BE MYSELF AND LIVE MY OWN LIFE. At the same time I am not allowed to destroy anyone's life with my stupid comments, bulshit conversation (more about it in the future) and negative attitudes. 

I think that during such a long journey, THE LIFE, a very first thing we should do is to be busy with our own things. To constantly develop our skills, respect other. To stay focused on our stops and destination. 
Try to build positive emotion every morning, smile, say nice, warm compliments. Even if you don't feel perfect, put some effort to make your day full of good things, words and actions. Be in GOOD MOOD and make someone else feel good.

My goal is SMART

Hi everyone!


Here I am. Sitting with me leg (yes, one leg) up just to improve circulation and prevent further damages in my vein. So I am sitting and wondering when the fkn spring will come. It's already the end of February. Everyone, me too, expect to experience stronger and stronger sun, to see that nature is waking up...Instead of this what I see? Rain mixed with snow! OMG. I really don't like winter and all this staff :(
As you already know, I am stuck. Stuck between my aspirations, reality and dreams. Still have too many ideas about my future and even more goals and ways how to achieve all of them. But this is completely oposite to what reality brings into my life every mornig. The truth is I am 30 this year, have first wrinkles around my eyes (!) and basically that's all what show my "mature side" ;)
I am sitting and thinking what life can bring. What future has prepared for me. Today, tomorrow, this year. Quite amazing how easily I let myself to fly far away from reality, from everyday issues... But this good, I think.

Let's back to meritum.

Yesterday I mentioned about changes I have to introduce into my life in order to get back on track- track of healthy lifestyle, stronger body, better overall condition and to increase my immunity system.
What I have already done is reducing calories and fat intake. Good, easy one. Also my 5-a-day project is not a big deal, because after my massive weight loss healthy eating habits are something natural to me. However, I think introducing more fresh, raw veg & fruits juices into a daily eating plan is a great idea. More vitamins & minerals for strong nails, hair and skin. Brans, oats, dried fruits, nuts for healthy digestive system and powered brain. More water for better hydration, teas and herbal infusions instead of coffee and "coffee drinks"... Oh, so much to do.

Also, what concerns my physical activity. For now I can't do much, until my vein is completely normal. I don't know how long it will take, but hopefully not too long... But walking and calm cycling will be ok, I guess. Will see.

I know I have achieved a lot- I lost 8 st/ 50 kg, gaines great physical condition, better self- esteem...But I still want more. Now I want to work on my body- on my loose (in some areas) skin and general strength.

My goal is SMART (read more here):

I want to decrease my body weight - 10 kg, by the end of May, using healthy methods, such us regular exercising, balanced low fat and low in calories diet.
I have started last night, planing exactly what and how I want to do. What next? Time and discipline. Like always.

Facts and reality vs. comfort zone

Hello there!


So long since my last post. I know. But the whole time was super crazy (and really painful, too). Let's start with begining.
As totally lost young [30 this year] adult (young? really Kasia?!) I have blank space in my head in a place where should be all the goals for a future, a career path and these things that adults usually have planned, such as family, mortgage, marriage, children and slow death... ooops, black humour;)
Ok, I don't have any of above. I am stuck somewhere between my 18s birthday and the final year of education on univeristy...
Fact- in 2012 I graduated from LYIT in Business Studies- International Business and Languages. Reality- this is not MY thing, I don't feel it. It doesn't excist for me.
Fact- before I came to Ireland I had opportunity to work with children and I really liked it!
Reality- since last year I am developing my skills in Early Childhood Care and Education sector. I feel this type of work will give me much more satisfaction and simple happiness than marketing and branding...
Fact- I am totally obsessed with my healthy lifestyle, wholesome eating habits and very active days.
Reality- for almost 3 months I am not able to live my way anymore :( The worst possible scenario has come into life- decreased physcial activity, sedentary day routine, change in my eating times + unexpected health issues, all of these result in very bad frame of mind, low energy, lack of vital powers and quite negative attitude towards everything. This is reality.
In the end of January I experienced inflammation around my wisdom tooth- &^^!#$@!!!!. Very painful. After 5-day long meds course (antibiotics + anti inflammatory pills) I felt better for 3 days and suddenly, once again... Bacterial infection in my jaw. Even worse pain mixed with fever, sore in a whole body. I was unable to get up from my bed, only one safe and comfortable place on Earth.
To stop infection my dentist prescribed me super strong and terribly awful med- kind of
chemotherapeutic. My body said NO MORE! Many side effects, bad general conditions. Positive outcome- infection stopped, all is fine. But now I have a problem with my leg- inflammation in my vein :( As a result of using the med. Oh.
Why I am writting about all these things? Because they lead to my current not- too- nice situation.
Fact- it loks like I have gained up to 2 kg on weight.
Reality- I really don't see it, neither feel it, but I guess my scale doesn't lie;)
Fact- my general body condition has decreased. I have to build it once again, to reach a point I was in autumn last year.
Fact- my body's immunity has also decreased.
Reality- skin, nails and digestive system in worse form than usually...

I could write and write, never ending story.
But I rather prefer to focus on what I already have and on my plans how to move forward and get back on track.
Tomorrow is a day of CHANGE. Big changes starting with my early wake up, breakfast, coffee and lunch breakes, dinner at home and everyday physical activity.
First of all I have to reduce daily calorie and fat intake to the level I used to have during the first phase of my massive weight loss in 2011/2012. As follow- 1500 kcal and max 60 grams of fat / daily.
Instead of sitting and eating during a lunch break- 30 minutes long brisky walk.
No more shitty cookies, chocolate, sugary "coffee" drinks etc...
And more physical activity during a week after long work day. Not only in the weekends.
That's my plan, super simple, realistic, achievable and adjusted to my personal needs and abilities.

Starting with tomorrow I am going to write some, even short feedback  every evening. Or record some short video.  Just to give you some idea how I am leaving my comfort zone and getting back on track.
I know I can do it. Just step by step. With smile on my face. And positive attitude in my heart.
Holistic approach.

The change and man in the mirror

Today something different. Affirmation for Saturday is about change.

Change is my fav stage in life:) This song is all about it.
Are you prepared to face "that" man in the mirror? To look at yourself and make that change?Sometimes we can see someone who is not the best example of human being... Sometimes we see our demons, problems, sadness, tears, love, smile, proud, hope.

What will you see is absolutely up to you! Your today's actions will give you  results shortly. Try to make the most beautiful things in your life. Always. Everytime. Think positively, respect yourself, your body, don't blame yourself. Respect other people, respect nature. Make the best possible choices, don't harm. Love is the answer. Be responsible for your life.




In my opinion Michael Jackson is one of the greatest artists ever. "Man in the mirror" song is for everyone who need answers, who want to find the right direction and first of all to become brave and take the very first step towards smoething new.
As you already noticed I am looking for inspiration everywhere. Music is that form of art that deeply touches my soul. I can feel it, hear it, listen to it. Music never fails me. Never. My best friend since I remeber. My home was always full of music. Maybe there was a lack of other things, such us talks about feelings etc, but music was ALWAYS. 

I want to hear YOUR MUSIC!

The 4th truth about Kasia. The kitchen accountant.

As you already know I am very enthusiastic when talking about the healthy eating habits and leading active lifetsyle. You also know I lost 50 kilograms/ 8 stones and haven't experienced the jojo effect. Yes, this is true! And I know, that you are asking yourself one simple question- "How did she do it?!"

I don't trust "meal replacement products".
Word "diet" makes me sick.
Magic pills, tablets, strange dietetary products, crazy point systems, redy shitty meals packed as "light option"....I could write and write, and write. Many market segments, not too much time to talk about them.

In my opinion "keep it simple method" works best. As you know, I have always had problem with my weight, I had terrible eating habits and lack of physical activity. In short- the best way to gain excessive kilograms and become obese person. And yes- it worked! Not a surprise.

I tried many times to lose weight, trying to increase my activity, skipping meals, buying lighter options of the same unhealthy products...No results.

In 2011 I had no choice but start to think rationally. In my head there was only one question- how to permanently reduce my body weight?

Some facts

If you eat more than you really need, probably you gain kilograms faster than you are able to run.
Portion size really matters. Smaller plate= smaller portion.
Honestly- don't pretend you have a scanner in your eyes and you don't have to use a kitchen scale to check exact weight of your portion & all ingredients. Because YOU HAVE TO!
Choosing unhealthy products in shop makes you eating them at home.
Waiting for "the right time"( tomorrow, next week, Monday, a new month, new year...) to start a diet, bah, change eating habits...Tomorrow- the mystical land where 99% of all human productivity, motivation, and achievement is stored...

What you REALLY have to do?

Be honest with yourself. You can pretend, lie to other people, but when you look at your face/ body in the mirror you are on your own with the biggest friend and the strangest enemy of yourself at the same time. It is only up to you who do you choose to deal with...
I prefer love over fight, my choice was obvious- I am friend of myself. However every motivation is good, as long as leads you in the right direction:)

Become the kitchen accountant- I know, sounds funny, but isn't the life the funny thing? Why should we be serious all the time? Weight loss process is very hard, painful and requires your FULL commitment. Full. Make it easier wherever possible, just BTW.
Why the kitchen accountant? Because you start counting. Daily calories and fat intake, portion size, calories burnt during your physical activity. You are counting every single thing that lands on your fork, plate, spoon and then in your mouth. No excuses. If you want to achieve your dream, there is no shortcut. Use a kitchen scale and bathroom one. Write down your results. Sytematically. Set a healthy calories in take level. When you start it will be lower than the targeted, final one.
I started with max 1500 kcal per day and not more than 50 grams of fat daily. Plus exercises on a daily basis. 3 main meals during a day and 2 x healthy snacks. Freshly made juices, cooking from the scratch, "healthy plate" composition...

It is possible when you start your planning with the day of shopping day. Your shopping list, your choices in the shop, your fridge and cupboard, eventually way of preparing meals, portion size and way of eating. Your strong will, from day to day stronger and stronger...

This is simple and effective method of weight loss. This is one real, for good and lifetime way to say GOODBYE FATTER ME! It fails only when you fail. You are responsible, more commitment you put in better the results will appear soon. 

Final word


Try to understand that the best choice you can make is to back to basics in your life. I mean eating habits etc. Fresh, raw vegetables and fruits, light, lean meat, low-fat dairy, brown instead white...Simple tips how to eat healhty, how to pay LESS for your grocery shopping and enjoy great inner energy, well- wokring digestive system, nature while outside and being HAPPY with yourself... I also know sometimes it is not easy to start that journey, I am here to help you. I have experience in that figth and trust me- there is no emotion, feeling, state of mind I'd be surprised with.

Hello beautiful minds!

Hope you enjoyed yeasterday- the 1st day of our slow weekend. Today we are starting once again. Step by step.
I am sure you did well your meditation in the morning and you are fulfilled with positive energy for the rest of a day!

Probably you are wondering why I am writing all these things. This blog is about weight loss and that kind of things... So why I am posting information about meditation, power thinking, back to basics...? Because this is MY WAY to live healhty, eat clean and enjoy happy life! 
First I want to show you my world, piece by piece you are discovering it. Some elements may be interesting for you, other not necessarily. That's fine. As long as you are here, you are in the right place to start a new life. To change bad eating habits, to increase level of positive energy, to create your inner imperative and enjoy fantastic body. The 2nd truth about Kasia. Sweet like chocolate


Ok, so basically that's all I wanted to write tonight... Joke:)
Just wanted to start in a melted, oh pardon, in a smooth way...

I am addicted. Yes. I admit. This is more than "just" love. I think it's mutual. I love chocolate, chocolate loves me. And hips don't lie.

Since I remember, sweets have been always in my life. Always. The magic drawer full of buiscuits in my grandmother's kitchen, sweet Saturdays at home, candies in pockets, chocolate bars at school, cakes when visitng my friends... When I was in a fantastic mood- something sweet as a reward! When I was down- more sweets to feel better...
Terrible, TERRIBLE eating habits I experienced when I was young, unfortunately grew along with me. Adult Kasia had exactly same system of rewards- sweets for bad mood, sweets for great mood. And once again, hips don't lie.
I thought it is something normal- like eating creamy cakes, pastries, cookies, bars everyday. Everyday. Sometimes few times a day. Now I know it is not normal.
I realised something is wrong when started buying "something sweet" only for myslef. I didn't want to share "my goods" with friends, family. I wanted to keep all for me! For me only.  I was avoiding other people when eating, didn't want to hear their comments etc... This is absolutely abnormal situation. Now I know it.

Once I decided to reduce my weight I knew that the hardest part of my journey is called- chocolate. Like a wild animal, I had to put my addiction into a cage, close the gates and lose the keys! That was EXTREMELY hard! EXTREMELY.



I was able to accept the calories counting, no problem. I could accept an everyday physical activity. With pleasure. Controlling size portion, changing from "white to brown", adding as much vegs and fruits as possible to my diet- yes, yes, yes. But I couldn't accept loss of my tastiest friend- chocolate....

In my head there were doubt and the question marks- why, what for... You don't have to do this, Kasia. Go to the shop, buy what you want, eat it and live your fatty life! Enjoy, this is your choice.

This time I said- NO. I am stronger. I can do it! And I did it.
I was always shopping with someone. Never alone. When was going out alone, I had only that amount of money which was absolutely necessary to buy what I needed, usually a botlle of water, coffee or tea...

Step by step, day by day I felt that chocolate is not "my thing" anymore. Don't take me wrong, I still love it and I am 100% sure I will love it for the rest of my life, but now I can control the frequency and amount of empty calories that I eat.

My weak strong will finally has become the strong strong will. And believe me- the hips really don't lie.
In my case, they always show the truth- I am tall and very shapely (a pear shape) woman... One kilogram more and my hips are shouting "Forget about skinny jeans, Kasia".

Other thing is that since 2011 I have never gained even 0.5 kg!
This is a proof, the argument for the healthy eating habits and physical activity. It works, no pills, magic diets or any other crazy things required.

Just your will, dedication and commitment.

Back to basiscs weekend

Hola!

I know you are tired after the long week, but look at this! We're finally here- it's Friday evening:) Do you have any plans for upcoming weekend?
Whatever you are going to do, don't miss your chance to take a part in a 2-day short (!) Back to basics training.

To the point.

It costs you nothing- that's nice. It gives you fun- sounds good. Hopefully you will discover something new, maybe brand new powers that you posses? Hmm?!

2 day, 48 hours. It is a lot of time, believe me. Every single second counts and makes your life better or worse. In other word- every single moment creates your life. You are different than yeasteday, tomorrow you won't be the same person as you are today.

During the 2 upcoming days we will focus on healthy food, ultra positive- thinking, power of affirmation, the elements of basic meditation, FITiesta & siesta, physical activity and will try to find a good mood factor. Are you in? Yes of course you are. :)

Plain is simple.


  1. When you wake up in the morning, try to stay in bed another 10- 15 minutes. Smile to yourself and use your imagination to stimulate your thoughts! Create an image of happy you, feel all these good vibes around you. Wake up in fantastic mood.
  2. Enjoy time spent with family, friends or just on your own. Very often silence is the best remedy for our problems and concerns. You can think then about all concerns you are experiencing or switch off your mind and recharge batteries.
  3. Find time to be in touch with nature. From very simple actions at home, like watering your plants and gardening to going for a long walk in a town park or forest.  If you are brave enough try hug a big tree...I know- that sounds crazy, but trust me- it really works.
  4. Use all your sences to discover the world around you- touch things, smell, taste variety of products, look at beauty of Mother Earth (ok, you can still look at another lovely pair of shoes. I know it also help!) and listen! Listen to music, voices, birds, people. Listen to yourself. Listen to your intuition!
  5. Try to cook something light and healthy. Go for fresh vegs and fruits. Keep it simple, you don't want to spend half a day in the kitchen. Try to make an orange juice, fruit salad for a dessert or a veg soup for a lunch. Break rules, don't make same things as usually during a week.
  6. Siesta- my fav time during a day! 30 minutes of laziness will make you happier and less stressed! Why not try?
  7. FITiesta- another fantastic time when you're working on your body... Endorphins boost will increase your confidence and will add some beauty factor for the rest of your day.
  8. Skip evening socialisng- stay at home, turn off TV and read some book...Relax. You deserve it as nobody else! This your time! Use it exactly as you want. 
  9. Hug, hug, hug. Smile, talk, experience... Create your good mood, create your environment, create yourself! We are the synergic system- your body, spirit and mind are ONE. Use them properly.
  10. Go sleep. One more time try to use 10- 15 minutes of time before going sleep to imagine your perfect you- your goals, dreams, what is fantastic in you. Remember to focus on positives only.
I told you. This is very easy. I don't know why people are ready to pay a lot of money for weird methods of weight loss etc.... Back to basics is simple, cheap and for a life time.

It is extremely important to understand a nature of a human brain, especially when in the shop. People are buying using their eyes and other senses (mainly the smell and the touch), not necessarily the brains. That means, very often we are taking home the products we would never bought, if thought twice before putting them in to the shopping trolley. And this is the shopping trolley- fridge concept.
